February 6 – Exodus 22-24

Good morning! I don’t have a lot to say about the Super Bowl, other than I had a great time visiting with friends. However, to see the destruction that people caused after the game makes me sick. We had fighter jets flying over and many other safety precautions to protect against terrorists… However, I’m not sure I see a lot of difference between terrorists and these people with their so-called celebrating. I just don’t understand what drives people to act that way.

On that note, let’s talk about a 6:33 life! I found lots of points in the reading for today. Chapter 22: A) Take responsibility for your actions, including paying for losses and damages (hmm… how appropriate!) B) Do what is right. C) Seek and worship God, alone. D) Care for the widow, fatherless, sojourner, oppressed, and poor. E) Give God our best offering – our first fruits. F) Be holy before God.  Chapter 23: A) Be honest. B) Do not get involved with those who do evil. C) Do not pervert justice. D) Do not show favoritism. E) Do the right thing, even when it comes to our enemies. F) Do not take a bribe. G) Do not oppress a foreign resident. H) Give of our bounty to the poor. I) Rest on the Sabbath. J) Remember what God has done and celebrate. K) Worship God only. K) Give God our best. L) Pay careful attention to God’s instructions and obey His voice. M) Do not rebel. N) Be patient, honoring the covenant we have with God for the long haul. O) Completely obey God, doing all He has told us to do, remembering sometimes He may not act right away.  Chapter 24: A) Do all that God has told us to do. B) Moses built an altar and offered sacrifices – worship. C) Moses went up on the mountain for 40 days, as God told him to do, to receive the tablets of stone with the law and the commandment, which God wrote for their instruction.

May God bless you today as you live in the world, but not according to the world and it’s ways!
